Situated in the Sepang district, about one hour from the capital city, Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) is Malaysia's primary international airport, facilitating air travel for a large number of annual visitors.

While many people come to the city as tourists, a good deal also arrive with business agendas, looking for suitable hotels. This influx of visitors creates a high demand for accommodation, which is well met by the city's established tourist infrastructure.

Sepang: City Hotels and Accommodation

The city centre is approximately 55 km / 34 miles north of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL). Most of the accommodation here is reasonably priced and offers modern facilities, with many high-rise hotels overlooking the cityscape and the famous Petronas Twin Towers, the city's tallest buildings, measuring around 1,483 feet / 452 metres.

Many of Kuala Lumpur's most noteworthy quality hotels lie in the Golden Triangle district and include a number of well-known brands, such as Sheraton and Marriott. The Golden Triangle is an important area of commerce and hotels here are particularly popular with business travellers, whilst catering well for those with tourism on their agenda. Shopping centres are plentiful in this part of Kuala Lumpur, together with numerous restaurants specialising in local cuisine.

Further accommodation can be found close to the Putra World Trade Centre and The Mall shopping centre, which is full of things to see and do. A number of the city's most luxurious hotels reside in this district of Kuala Lumpur, with more mid-range lodging located around the colourful Chinatown neighbourhood, close to many magnificent temples and the Lake Gardens.
